Position Overview
Detailed Position Description:
The Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) Senior Lecturer, 50% FTE; 9/12 position will be split between teaching/supervision responsibilities and outreach activities in order to meet the requirements of the FCS program funds. Time allocated to teaching/supervision will depend upon the number of FCS students enrolled in field experience courses who will require school visitations. Primary goals: to support current students in the undergraduate licensure program in Family and Consumer Science (FCS) Education in Education Studies; to provide support to current WDE faculty with FCS-related field experiences (ES WDE 5189.01, 5189.02, 5189.03, 5189.04 and 5784; to help alleviate the shortage of Family and Consumer Science (FCS) teachers and other areas of career-tech in Ohio and potentially nationwide.
Responsibilities in this position will be:
Hold annual informational meeting with EHE advisors in 100 PAES Interaction/meetings with OSU regional campus advisors to share information. Interaction/meetings with Columbus State CC campus advisors to share information. Targeted school visits (schools with FCS programming) to talk with teachers/students. Attendance at Ohio FCS-related conferences and student contests. Periodic social media activities (WDE Facebook page, FCS Ohio-related pages) to publicize the program. Interaction/meetings with FCS program personnel from the Ohio Department of Education. Observe supervising/evaluating FCS students enrolled in the above-listed classes

Develops course content, student assignments, syllabi, instructional materials, and delivery components. Delivers instruction and/or supervision to students. Incorporates effective instructional technology into course delivery. Grades papers and exams. Utilizes features of OSU's learning management system to share course material and enhance the course experience. Uses online Faculty Center to download class rosters and submit grades. Holds regular student office hours and student review sessions.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Masters degree in Education or equivalent education/experience in field closely related to area of academic instruction required. Experience teaching at college/university level required. Experience in the use of technology in the classroom required.

The Department of Educational Studies is a multi-disciplinary department, offering both undergraduate and graduate programs.
