Location: Syracuse, NY Pay Range: $2,084.07 - $2,146.59 per credit hour Pay Determination:
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description:
COU 644 - Counseling Prepracticum (3 Credits)
Introduction to counseling skills and techniques, including assessment, relationship building, goal setting, and therapeutic intervention. Extensive use of video and audio taping of role-played counseling interactions. Permission of instructor.
Qualifications:
Doctorate (or ABD) in counselor education is required.
Practicum is a supervised field placement in a school, agency, college, or rehabilitation setting during which clinical mental health counseling students assume the varied role of counselor.
Qualified applicants should have experience working with varied clinical populations and be familiar with providing clinical supervision in a group format.
Job Specific Qualifications:

Experience and knowledge related to counseling skill development, student self-efficacy, and supervision theory and application are required. Qualified applicants should have experience working with varied clinical populations and be familiar with providing clinical supervision in an individual, group, and live format.
Responsibilities:
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
Participate in student recitals or showings.
Collect and submit student assessment data for accreditation purposes, if applicable.
Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
Providing an updated CV annually or upon request of the department or school.
Participating in departmental meetings or workshops.
Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
