The Department of Counseling at Xavier University, within the College of Professional Sciences, is seeking applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty members. The department will have 8 full-time faculty members and offers a CACREP-accredited MA in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling characterized by a community engagement and social justice focus. Both positions will have responsibility for teaching school and clinical mental health counseling students. Positions begin January 1, 2025 and August 1, 2025.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching graduate level counseling classes
Engaging in scholarship that contributes to the counseling profession
Participating in professional, department, college, and university service activities
Collaborating with colleagues on program development, reaccreditation, and credentialing activities
Advising students in school and clinical mental health counseling programs
Participating in screening and interviewing of prospective students
Assisting with development and coordination of new programs
To be considered for the associate professor rank, candidates should have a minimum of five years teaching experience at an accredited college or university and clearly defined record of scholarship and publication.

Qualifications:
A practitioner/scholar who shares our vision for training highly competent and effective professional counselors
A doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program by start of appointment
Significant experience as a school and/or clinical counselor
Evidence of a counselor educator identity and commitment to school or clinical mental health-based scholarship, teaching, and service
Licensed or license eligible as a school and/or clinical counselor in the state of Ohio
Experience and competence in teaching, scholarship, and clinical supervision of graduate students
Evidence of a strong commitment to social justice, advocacy, and multicultural counseling.
Evidence of a commitment to professional and university service.
