The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Mental Health Counseling, a 9-month tenure-track position. This is an on-campus, in-person position.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting scholarly research, publishing, and grant writing;
Teaching graduate (masters and doctoral) coursework in mental health counseling and the counseling core (e.g., ethics, theories, etc.);
Supervising field experiences aligned with the Counseling Program's ecological model and wellness-oriented approach to practice;
Advising graduate students, guiding dissertation research, and serving on doctoral committees; and
Collaborating with area partners, behavioral health agencies, and integrated practices.
Additional responsibilities include:
Leadership and program coordination within the Mental Health Counseling track,
Collaboration with other programs within the school and college,
Service on Program, School, College and University committees, and other duties as assigned.
The successful applicant will be expected to further the Program and University's excellence in research (including external funding, publishing, presenting) and teaching (two classes per semester).

Position Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have the following, minimum qualifications: (a) earned Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (or anticipated completion by August, 2025) from a CACREP-accredited program as evident in your transcript, (b) the potential to maintain an active program of scholarly research in counseling consistent with a wellness oriented perspective, as described in your research agenda and demonstrated by at least one peer-reviewed publication as well as at least one other work in progress, (c) experience teaching in the counseling core (as a lead instructor or TA) and/or courses within the mental health counseling specialty as evident in your CV, (d) demonstrate cultural competence in teaching, research, and clinical practice as described through your research agenda and cover letter outlining your approach to teaching and practice, (e) demonstrated ability to effectively use technology when teaching online and in-person as described in your CV and cover letter; and (f) professional work experience implementing evidence-based practice in mental health counseling as evident through your CV, cover letter, and/or recommendations
